Tada!!! Isn't it so frickin' awesome?!?! This was the inspiration and basis for this outfit: [link] . For more info about the process of making this ensemble, go here: [link]

The coat, corset, breeches, sash, and headscarf (and the decoration on the hat) were all done by me. The coat borrowed the back and side-back pieces of Simplicity #4900, the sleeves were altered from Butterick #3894, the front pieces, skirting, and collar were all drafted/designed by me (yay mockups, but BOO to mockups without a dress form!). The coat closes up the front with gold "chariot" clasps. The corset was entirely my design and laces up the back. Fabrics were gold-marigold-bronze paisley satin brocade (lined in toffee colored broadcloth), brown/bronze chenille upholstery (lined in toffee colored cotton duck), the trim on the coat was brown gimp braid, and the corset used brown double-fold bias along the top. The buttons are nice gold and pearl ones I've had around for a while. For the breeches, they were made from Butterick #6884, only lengthened. I was going to make the breeches end in 2-3" cuffs, but it was around 3 AM the day of Feast, so I just made elastic cuffs for the time being. I'll change that later. The breeches were made from toffee colored moleskin. Very comfy outfit, quite breatheable, and I made the corset so well, I didn't have to adjust the lacing even after I ate tons for dinner at the Feast, lol! Yay for no corset trauma! XD

Other parts of the outfit. The sash was made of this nifty Idontknowhowtoclassifyit fabric in a scale-like pattern that I found at Walmart, and the head scarf was made from a triangle of the coat lining fabric. The chemise was not meant for this outfit, but since I didn't have time to make a new, less poofy one, I had to use this (it's a satin chemise made from Simplicity #9966, sewn by my friend ). The hat was a blank hat purchased from Halloween USA, then trimmed and pinned up with buttons turned into brooches, in this case, using gold trim and gold-black velvet "x" buttons. The earrings were a gift that came with purchasing a gold coin belt at Gilkeyshire Faire last year, I made all the cute hair bead strands and the choker, and the necklace (which is actually upside down...oops) was purchased at JCPenny. I've had some people ask where I got my pocketwatch (which can kinda be seen hanging on the belt). I found it 2 years ago at a Walmart :D Yaaay, Walmart!

If you have other questions about the outfit, ask away :D The outfit was definately a hit at Feast, and I can't wait to wear it again to Pirate weekends at Faire :boogie: And to see POTC 2 :D!!

I need to join the Privateer's guild this year :3
