KITT Inspired Fashion

So after creating the designs for last year's Corvette and Mini Cooper outfits, sewn and worn respectively by me and , we decided that since we were on a Knight Rider kick, why not design outfits based on K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. While the initial inspiration came from the new NBC Knight Rider, the outfits were based totally on the original Trans Am cars. Black sateen dresses with contrasting red or yellow to mock the scanner light bar across the chest, with black cropped-front twill jackets with contrast bias detailing. Since I chose to be K.I.T.T., my outfit was the black and red only. Lennie chose to be K.I.T.T.'s evil prototype, K.A.R.R. with his dual-tone Trans Am model (black on top, gray on the bottom) and lined her jacket in gray with contrast in yellow for the scanner bar. I designed and made all the jewelry for both of our outfits, made with fiber optic type beads to give a little extra kudo to the scanner bars. I ended up finding the perfect pendant for my necklace which reminded me of K.I.T.T.'s voice box Also complimenting the outfit, I found an eBay seller who had some Pontiac seatbelt belts, so we both bought one. The Pontiac brand will never die!

Both of our outfits were worn on opening day of the Detroit Auto Show public show and we got a lot of attention Loads of fun to wear, great pics, and if we could just get our hands on a pair of replica Trans Ams or find a nice Shelby GT500KR, we'd be set for a nice photoshoot, hehehehe
