Collection: Modernized Historical Fashions

Theme Of Collection: Taking major eras of history and putting a modernized twist on the fashions, as if those eras were returning. Mixing haute couture with wearable modern style, using one pallette of blues, reds, golds, cream, and as little black as possible. Designs done in chronological order by historical era.

My take on this collection:

Why historically based garments? That's what I'm all about! Even before I learned about Renaissance Faires, my drawings had a medieval/fantasy aspect about them, and it has just evolved since. I sew garb for Faires, I've designed some patterns, and honestly, I've only sewn 1 or 2 "modern" garments :b I'm all about the historical fashions, and have been fascinated by them for years. The fashion eras I chose for this collection represent my fav eras of history, ones that I continue to learn about.

Thanks go out to everyone who's supported me throughout this competition, and those who help me critique my designs from start to finish! :D!!! You guys rule!!!

I hope you have enjoyed my designs for Project Designer as much as I have. Good luck to reality and Zebra in the final judging. Wish me luck too :D I'm super excited!!!

Just... wow... no wonder you won! I can't believe this set! They're all so good, and they all are identifiable by their original era's, but they're so modern and (most importantly) wearable! I can't believe you... it's amazing...

I have always tried to design things that are unapologetically beautiful, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I can inspire an appreciation for grace and elegance, that would be the ultimate fulfillment of my life's ambition.
